The restaurant is located in the center of Chestertown, Maryland's Historic District and is open Monday through Saturday with lunch service beginning at 11:30 am. Dinner is served from 5:00 pm on. Reservations are recommended for weekends and large parties.
Owner & manager Paul Hanley, a graduate of Cornell University's famous Hotel School, founded the Blue Heron Cafe in 1997. He and his professional staff of chefs serve innovative regional American cuisine. Its diverse menu includes fresh seafood, Marland crab dishes, steaks, chops, pasta, veal sweetbreads, vegetarian dishes and their famous Oyster Fritters.
